Snow and Ice Show coming to Indianapolis

Two-and-a-half day trade show for the professional snow and ice management industry is slated for mid-May in Indianapolis and will focus on education and industry networking.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Accredited Snow Contractors Association (ASCA) and Snow Magazine have announced the introduction of the Snow and Ice Show, a new industry event focused on education, certification, networking, and the latest snowfighting tools for increased efficiency and profitability.

The Snow and Ice Show will take place May 17-19, 2017 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. This is a comprehensive conference that fills a void in the snow and ice management market for ASCA in-classroom certification; industry-specific, high-quality educational programming; and elite peer-to-peer networking opportunities. The event unites manufacturers, suppliers, and snow and ice management professionals for 2 ½ days of education, networking and a trade show.

In May 2007, prior to the formation of the ASCA, Snow Magazine held the successful Snow Industry Conference & Exposition in Indianapolis. Since that event, snow contractors frequently inquire about the prospects of bringing back the trade-show style event, says ASCA Executive Director Kevin Gilbride.

"We're flattered that contractors remember the 2007 event fondly for its educational and networking opportunities," Gilbride says. "The ASCA and Snow Magazine realize these regular inquiries speak to an underserved segment of our industry for these types of easily accessible, high-value events."

The Snow and Ice Show’s educational programming is focused on the modern principles of successful snow and ice management – managing risk, reducing insurance rates, and reducing bogus slip-and-fall claims. The show is geared toward industry leaders and those who wish to become industry change agents, as well as for peer-to-peer discussions on real-world business issues.

The ASCA and Snow Magazine are working in conjunction to finalize the educational speaker lineup, and announcements will be made in the upcoming weeks. However, educational topics and themes will include:

  • Contract Language
  • Property Conditions
  • Industry Standards
  • Documentation
  • Risk Management
  • Post-Event Processes
  • Insurance Risk and Awareness
  • ISO 9001/SN 9001 Quality Management System
  • Technology
  • Marketing
  • Personnel Management
  • De-icing Chemicals & Equipment
  • Bidding and Estimating
  • Safety Programs, Protocols & Training
  • Managing SEO
  • Equipment Purchasing/Management
  • Managing Labor
  • Legislative Affairs and Grassroots Political Action
  • Managing Large, Complex Properties

Specific event details and schedules will be announced in the coming weeks.

"We're excited to bring this show to the professional snow and ice management industry and we're eager to get the word out so contractors can get May 17-19 on their calendars and begin making arrangements to attend," Gilbride says. "A number of additional announcements will be made in the coming weeks that will solidify this must-attend event."

Industry suppliers interested in purchasing event sponsorships and booth space are encouraged to contact Gage Roberts at either 216-393-0239 or groberts@gie.net
